Day 6 August 20

Back from the field! Had to stay out longer than I thought. Tired and sick of driving all over the country side. Did see some very cools sites though. So here are my stats in inches:
Chest 40
Hips 41
Waist 33
Thigh Left 24.5
Calf Left 14Arm
Left 11
Weight 173 UGH!! went up! This is due to eating too many carbs on the road and water retension for sure! My hands and feet are swollen and I feel soooooo bloated, Also I am coming up to that TOTM. The food on the road is sooo bad! I tried really hard to keep it ED friendly. It is a good thing tomorrow is a fast day and I can start excersing again. I haven't checked my stats at the end of the 30 from July 21, but will do and post my before pictures that I took today. I had planned to be at 150 by now. I really have to set my goals and stick to the plan.It was a high carb day so here is what I ate:
Tea and water throughout the day
Cantaloupe
Yogurt
Beef Veggie Soup
Salad with tom and cuc and tuna
Chicken
Califlower
Corn
Mash Potatoes (just a few tablespoons)
I was starving today. I know it has to do with my TOTM coming on. I am looking forward to fasting tomorrow.

July 29, 2009

Yesterday I had blueberries, two boiled eggs, two rice cakes, buffalo burger pattie, salad, potatoes. Today more blueberries, banana, 2 boiled eggs, and buffalo stir fry for dinner. I am going to get in a 5 km to 10 km jog in this evening.
I am going to visit my sister this weekend on the coast. I am looking forward to some wicked hikes, swimming and scuba diving. My sister is very fit and athletic and when I go and visit her she always has some major outdoor event planned for us. I will be driving down with my parents and we are stopping in Seattle for a couple of days and I am really excited about checking out the belly dancing stores there. I will be gone for two weeks and my goal weight for Aug 15 is 155lbs.

July 28, 2009

Well I went on a road trip with my husband for 4 days and just got back last night. Eating on the road is hard and as you know most restaurants don't have very ED friendly menus. I manage to eat an omelet without the ham and cheese and replaced the toast with a fruit salad. Boston pizza has a health section and I order salmon with steamed veggies and a salad. I went to the grocery store and bought strawberries, boiled eggs, cantaloupe, to take with us in our cooler. I also had yam fries, chicken on a stick, and salad. I had a couple of glasses of wine over the four days and coffee. Now I back to my ED full on and exercising twice a day.

Thursday, July 23, 2009

July 23 POST 30 days

Feeling good. More motivated than ever to get to my goal weight. Will continue with ED until I reach 130. I am training for my half marathon that is coming up at the end of Sept. 21 km. That's a long way. I did my first 10 km non stop last week. Mostly just run 5 km with no problem. Tonight is another 10km. I am also going to incorporate more free weight training into my excercise routine. Cheers

Food

banana with blueberries
3 turkey cold cut
2 rice cakes
3/4 cup of chick peas
1/4 cup of tuna
fruit salad (blue, straw, banana, cantaloupe)
Chicken and salad for dinner

DAY 30 but not the last

Read about Cynthia's 30 day fat loss results from working with London Personal Trainer Dax Moy on his 30-in-30 program. Read how I lost 11.2 lbs and 11.5 inches in just 30 days.
Here are my final results!
Weight 167.8 start 179 down 11.2 lbs (pound per week on average 2.8 lbs)
Chest 39 start 41 down -2
Waist 33 start 36 down -3
Hips 41 start 44 down -3
Thighs 24.5 start 26 down -1.5
Calves 14 start 15 down -1
Arm 11 start 12 down - 1
Total inches lost overall 11.5!!
Well this has been quite a journey! A journey of self awareness and determination . . . I have learned self discipline, proper food management, finding time to dedicate to exercising (time management) and learning to say "NO". My name is Cynthia and I am from Alberta Canada and I have lost 11.2 pounds of unwanted fat in 30 days. That is 2.8 pounds of weight loss a week on average. I also lost 11.5 inches overall and am able to fit into clothes I have not worn in years! I am so grateful to have been pick for this program and will continue using DAX's program and the tools he gave us to reach my goal weight. In the past I have tried other programs, such weight watchers, but I did not see them through and quite just before I started seeing any results. I have always been in shape, but after I turned 35 it was, as the expression goes, all down hill from there. When I turned 40 I was at my heaviest. I was in the 190s and could barely tie my own shoes. I think that was my breaking point. It was depressing and I was in a rut. When I turned 41, I had had enough and started to do some research. I came across DAXs program and when he announced that he was looking for guinea pigs I was ecstatic. I had tried the Elimination Diet before, but again did not stick with it and what little results I had seen disappeared. When I was picked for the program I made a promise to myself to follow this through! I didn't want to be overweight anymore. Although the first week was pretty tough, hard and scary (because what if I failed AGAIN), I managed to persevere, stayed strong and stick with the program with the help of DAX's advice and encouragement. I was so happy to see 3 inches come off my waist and hips. Also my belly went down considerably and I didn't feel so bloated. I haven't reached my goal yet, but now I have the proper tools and willpower to succeed. There is nothing stopping me now. I recommend this program to anyone who has reached their limit and who are serious about losing weight and seeing results fast. It is not just a another diet . . . this program changes your life! Thanks DAX. I would love to give you a hug in person! xoxoxox

July 19, DAY 29

OMG tomorrow is the last day!! I just got back from the field! Exhausted, tired very hot. Hotels were crappy, food was crappy but the terrain was beautiful. I managed my fast okay as there was nothing to eat anyway! Drank tons of water. And what food I could find was very ED friendly. Exercising was hard. But did tons of walking! I weighed in this morning at a solid 168.0! My goal for tomorrow was 164. Anyways will measure up tomorrow and fill in all the details. Off to take a much needed shower and nap!

July 12, DAY 21

Well this morning It was so beautiful outside I decided to go for a low impact jog 5km. It was great! I felt really good. I also decided to fast today as my goal weight for tomorrow is 170 and I am only 1.2 lbs away. Tonight I will eat buffalo roast with greens and salad. My goal weight for the end of July is 150. Also I worked on my video today that is require at the end of the 30lbs in 30 days program. My friend "S" helped me who has also been a great inspiration for me! I am so lucky to be surrounded my so many supportive people.

June 11, Day 20

Wow only ten days to go! I have only lost 7.8 pounds so far! I think I am eating too many carbs on low carb day. I will have to sort this out ASAP. In the morning I juiced 1 cucummber, I bunch of celery, and in the afternoon I had a tossed green salad with 1 cup of beef veggie soup. For a snack I had tuna on 2 rice cakes. For dinner I had corn on the cob, 1/2 cup of shrimp on some lettuce with a light olive oil and lemon dressing. I drank lots of water and herbals teas. Looking forward to fasting again!

July 10, Day 19

www.mylondonpersonaltrainer.com

Well woke up this morning and went to boot camp 6-7am. I am in week 7 and it is definitely harder! I really love working out with a group of people and having someone tell me what to do. Working out on my own at home is kind of boring. When I work out with others I definitely train harder. Today I did DB circuit and went for a long walk with my dog. People are definitely started to notice my results and when they ask me what I am doing and I tell them I cut out alcohol, sugar, wheat, diary and caffeine and exercise almost 3 times a day. They go in shock and ask me how I can survive. I actually haven't had crazy cravings. I love eating clean. The only thing I would like is a glass of wine, but that will have to wait. This is the first program I have really stuck too. I haven't cheated once on the ED. I have missed a couple of workouts but made them up the next day. I love this program and I am seeing incredible results. I went up 1.2 pounds to 173 from 171.8, but today I weighed in and I was at 171.4. Hopefully by Monday weigh in I will be at 170 my goal.

Food
Veggies medley steamed
1/4 cup potato salad

July 9, DAY 18

http://www.mylondonpersonaltrainer.com/

Woke up and found out I got my period this morning. No wonder I ate so much yesterday!

Meltdown/ICP/ DB Matrix

I went up 1.2 pounds but I am contributing that to water retention. Will try Dax's flush of salt water and lemon. Pretty much feeling bloated but exercising actually helps tone down the my period symptoms. Drinking lots of water and herbal tea. I really like fasting it makes me feel light and clean inside. Also really had a break through today with the leg overs. It was a real effort to get my butt up over my head. I had to rock and use momentum to get my legs over. Today is was less of an effort and did it on my first go! Only 4.5 hours until dinner, which will consist of buffalo burger pattie (no bun) cucumbers, tomato, and celery (maybe of bit of potato salad).

July 7, 2009 DAY 16

Well I am certainly getting results!

This morning had 2 boiled eggs. Lunch was tuna surprise! with tofu, celery, onion, tomato all scrambled together in a frying pan. Dinner cod and a small potato and some greens. Tomorrow is carb day and then intermittent fasting. It shouldn't be hard as my appetite really has gone down. I am drinking lots of water and I am thinking I need a supplement of some kind. I am feeling tired, so could use a boast of some kind. I am also getting cramps in my left calf. Not sure what that is and will look into it. All in all I feel great. My clothes are fitting bettter and this morning I weighed in at 171.8. Hope to be down to 170 by the end of the week. Today's workout was just the pyramid, but will make it up tomorrow.

That's me doing the "tree pose" at the camp ground we rented for the month. Namaste!

July 6, DAY 15 Half way there!

I never use to like getting my picture taken because I look so fat compared to my friends. I always stood in the background. Anyways I am starting to feel good about getting my photo taken again! Saturday, June 27, 2009

Do you want amazing fast result! NO REALLY! http://www.mylondonpersonaltrainer.com/

I am so happy today to step on the scale and see a loss. How many times have I dreaded to step on the scale? Countless. On DAX's program, I actually look forward to getting on the scale in the morning to monitor my results AND what results! Not only do I see them in myself but others too. Check out their blogs for some truly inspirational stories. WE are all different but we all have the same weight loss goal and with the help of DAX we will achieve our desired weight.

The first couple of days were tough . . . I was tired, sore and overwhelmed. The first thing I did was clean out my fridge and establish a workout space. Then I cleaned up the entire house. Clutter tends to cover my tables, desk and other areas of the house, so I de-cluttered, so I would have a nice stress free space to relax in. Once I got started I found my groove and got into a routine. I am hardly hungry, but my face broke out a bit and was quite red. I guess that is from detoxing during the first few days. It is fine now. I am in bed by 10:30 and sleep very well. Now that the first week is over there is no stopping me now. DAX introduced new exercises that I am eager to try out and a new diet formula. I'll spend tomorrow buying food for the week and acquaint my self with the new exercises. I have not weighed under 180 for a very long time! It's hard work but it is working!! I am very grateful to be DAX's guinea pig! Trainhard everyone!

I just got back from the field. I got up this morning did my 6am-7am boot camp which is pretty hard core. Lots of squats, walking lunges, pushups, jumping jacks, burpees etc. I got home and had my breakfast and then I got a call and had to be in the field immediately. I had to find the boundaries of a previously recorded site that was recently zoned for a subdivision which is about 1.5 hours away from where I live. I brought for Lunch celery sticks, a cumber, an apple and a grapefruit. Plus a thermos full of mint tea. All this to say I didn't do workouts 1 and 2. I did however, shovel test all day which is very physical. Not to mention all the walking I did carrying my gear that weighs about 25 lbs. I just got home. 7:48 pm and my husband is trying to get some dinner together. Organic ground buffalo pattie with peas and potato. Then I will do Workout 3 then to bed. Maybe a movie if I can stay up! I am as you say in London knackered! Below is a picture of me doing a shovel test today, I did about 10 of them! Train hard everyone! I promise to make up the missed workouts tomorrow.

June 24, 2009 Day 3 Tired and Sore

THIS IS MY FRIDGE AFTER IT WAS CLEANED OUT ON DAY ONE! DON'T WORRY NOT EATING THE STUFF ON
BANNED LIST!
http://www.mylondonpersonaltrainer.com tired and sore, but that's the price you have to pay to lose 30 lbs in 30 days. I have worked out more in 3 days then I normally do in two weeks! The workouts are hard, but short. You sure do work up a sweat. The hard work is paying off and I think the key is consistency. I have already seen unbelievable results in myself and others:

Weight 178.6 down from 179
Chest 40.5 down 1/2 inch
Waist 35 down 1 inch
Hips 43.5 down .5 inch
Thigh 26 same
Calf 15 same
Arm 11.5 down .5 inch

Results are only after 3 days! Other participants have also seen dramatic results in only in three days. This real! Check out their blogs too.

I was really tired and sore this morning so I skipped boot camp. I finished workout one and two and tonight before bed will complete workout three. I have added ten reps to each exercise so far.

Morning
Mint tea
Juiced some celery before workout
1/4 watermelon
8 celery stalks

Afternoon
Mint tea
Awesome salad with lettuce, apple, celery, red onion, a boiled egg crumbled on top, tomato with a dribble of olive oil and lemon for flavour.
2 organic rice cakes spread with homemade hummus

Evening
Aveda soothing tea
potato salad (boiled potato, celery, onion, egg spices and a bit of olive oil mixed together)
1 lean beef sauage
green salad
1 rice cake
olives
humus

Also we had the antique show this weekend so I had to help unload the trailer. I just finished my workout two and had dinner. Still have workout three to go. I am very sore, but I pushed through workout two, but didn't do as well as yesterday. Has it only been two days? LOL, I am looking forward to workout three as I love stretching and yoga, so will do it just before bed. I will have no problem getting to bed early tonight. Good Night.

June 20 and 21 2009 Happy Solstice Everyone

Well went for a 5km run this morning, when I say run it is more like a light jog. Then came home and got ready for the Antique show here in town. We had two booths and had to get them set up. It was a crazy weekend. Saturday was spent all day at the Antique show then Sat night it was a friend's birthday party, but had to duck out early. I had to leave for a special site visit at 11:30 pm . There is a line of cairns or rock piles on this hill near the Sundial Butte Medicine Wheel that my boss believes is a solstice line of some sort. So got my gear together to go camp out at the site and watch the sun rise. I brought some people I work with from the TLU office on the Blood Reserve. So we drove out (about 1 hour drive) and tried to located the site. It was pitch black and there was cloud cover so my GPS wasn't working too great. Anyways we located the site around 2:30 am and set up camp. We were exhausted so went to sleep. I got up to flag the cairns and make tea for everyone one. We all gathered at 5:20 am to witness the sun rising over our line, but it was rainy and cloudy so we couldn't see it! UGH! Anyways we thought we would go visit the Medicine Wheel, which is about 3 km away (you have to picture this is in the middle of nowhere in a sea of prairie, so not many people around). We arrived and there was a group from Red Crow College doing a ceremony at the MW. They had tea and coffe and we knew alot of the people so it turned out to be an awesome experience. I was really tired though. Got home at 8 am (June 21) then crashed for 3 hours, then went to the antique show and then was in bed by 8 pm. The picture is of my coworkers walking around the Wheel. You can see the central cairn.

June 19, 2009 I'm Picked!!

WOW Dax picked me to be a part of his program 30lbs in 30 days. I am so excited! I am soo excited. Actually ever since he mentioned this "contest" I have been eating super clean. NO sugar, alcohol, wheat, and caffeine. I started out at 184 and stepped on the scale this morning and weighed in at 178.6. WOW. I haven't been under 180 for the longest time. Now I am so pumped to get started on DAX's program.

I started this morning off with a 5-6km run follow by a 2km hike up a mountain which was work related. That's one of the reasons why I have to stay in shape. My work demands a lot of physical exercise from shoveling testing to hiking up very steep terrain. We checked out a vision quest site that might be distrubed due to the logging activity in the area.

Basically I have been eating a protein shake in the morning followed by fruit. Lunch is a big salad with some sort of protein. A snack is usually almonds and an apple. Dinner stir fry with rice or buffalo with salad. I am not sure what the next step is of DAX's program, but I am sure my entries will be more detailed. WE START MONDAY!!!!!!!! Thanks DAX Tainhard!

June 18, 2009

Just came back from a 2 hour rehearsal for a belly dance gig we are doing for Canada Day. Feeling pretty good about it. I weighed in this morning 181. So I actually lost 3 pounds this week. I plan to weigh myself every Thursday morning. Tomorrow I will take official measurements and before photos. The garden is looking good. It is so exciting to see something grow from a tiny tiny tiny seed. This weekend is going to be busy-- starting tomorrow morning. I am meeting "H" for a run. She is also training for the same half marathon that I am. She is an awesome lady and is very motivating. Plan to hit the hay pretty early tonight and gear up for the weekend. We have two tables at the antique show and it starts tomorrow night. It will be a long day. Just planning to run this weekend as we start boot camp on Monday early. Well goodnight.

June 17, 2009

Just came back from yoga. Love it! Next session starts on July 15, so will be practicing on my own for awhile. That's okay . . . translates into great "me time" where I can mentally reaffirm my goals and reflect on myself. Boot camp starts again on the 22nd so gearing up for that. Yesterday went well, I had a protein shake for breakfast, small stir fry for lunch (no rice), salad and fish with a bit a buffalo for dinner and wine of course, but no more wine. I won't be drinking for the next 30 days. Also removing from my diet, starting tomorrow, because I already ate a peanut butter and banana sandwich for breakfast, coffee, wheat, sugar and cheese. I like yogurt and cottage cheese and I hoping that is allowed on Dax's diet, but I am thinking probably not, so that is also going to have to go :) I have also started a garden, which I am really excited about. I recently bought a small house in which I intend to resell. I am currently living in a loft and have no real yard. I have never really had my own garden and I have planted everything under the sun. Not much of a green thumb, but we'll see. I will post some pictures tomorrow. 30- pounds in 30 days. Whether I get picked or not for this experiment I am going to be committed to losing a significant amount of weight in the next 3o days. Yay me! The picture above is me when I was in really good shape. I was running and riding almost everyday. This was taken in Turkey where I was teaching English. I am using this picture of me as my inspiration to get back to my old self.

June 16 Tuesday 2009

Just finished 4 weeks of boot camp and start the next session on June 22. It tough especially since it starts at 6 am. Not a big fan of early morning workouts, but after I dragged my butt out on to the field and start feeling the blood pumping I am happy that I came. During this short break I plan to get stretching in, such as doing some more yoga. I am also a belly dancer and we have a couple of big gigs coming up so planning to watch what I eat more closely. Since it is summer there is a lot of fresh produce to choose from. I eat mostly fruit in the morning and munch on veggies during the day. However, the problem is at dinner. My husband is French and must have a full on dinner with all the trimmings and of course wine. Usually we eat quite late and I know that is not helping me either. Anyways he is on board with helping me loose the weight and has promised to help me prepare leaner suppers. Bon appetite!
